In the Indian state of Uttarakhand, rescue efforts continue for at least 40 workers who were trapped when a part of the tunnel under construction collapsed yesterday during road work.
A state official stated that 40 workers were thought to be trapped in the rubble and were being supplied with oxygen and food through a pipeline. Stating that rescue efforts for the stranded workers continue, the official shared the information that debris removal efforts are also continuing.
According to ANI, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during his visit to the site, said, “The rescue operation and debris removal work is continuing apace. Food supplies were provided. We are meeting with experts and the investigation is ongoing. “Our priority is the safe rescue of everyone,” he said. (AA)
