Service interrupted at Shifa hospital in Gaza… Patients connected to machines die

The Gaza Health Ministry announced that Shifa Hospital was out of service because Israeli forces attacked everything that moved in it.

Israeli warplanes were also reported to have bombed the operating room section of the hospital today. The Palestinian Health Minister announced that 39 babies kept in intensive care at Shifa Hospital are at risk of death from lack of oxygen.

Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said: “We lost some patients due to the stoppage of oxygen machines at Shifa Hospital.” Kudra stated that the fuel at Sifa Hospital, the largest hospital in Gaza and where thousands of civilians took refuge, has completely run out of fuel and the machines can no longer function.

International organizations say Israel’s attacks on hospitals are clearly a war crime. It was highlighted that Israel deliberately attacked hospitals to force Palestinians to leave northern Gaza.

Surgeon Mohammed Obeid, a member of the non-governmental organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF), said he and his colleagues could not abandon the wounded at Gaza’s Shifa hospital.

Speaking to Channel 4 News, Dr. Obeid stated that approximately 90 percent of patients at Sifa Hospital left the hospital due to the airstrikes, but patients who underwent surgical and general medical procedures were not able to leave the hospital because They couldn’t walk.

When asked if there were Hamas members around or inside the hospital and allegations of weapons storage, Obeid stated that he did not see any Hamas members or weapons, and that there were only patients in the hospital, noting that the patients in question were not They could be evacuated from the area due to lack of ambulances.

Israel has been bombing the Shifa hospital and its surroundings for days, claiming that it was “used for military purposes”, despite repeated denials from the Gaza government.

Due to the attacks, many wounded were evacuated from the Şifa hospital in difficult conditions.
