The figures for the child benefit in Germany have been announced: it exceeds 18 thousand TL
In Germany, which has come to the fore with the controversial “Germany is envious of us” and in Turkey, which is going through an intense economic crisis, the first figures on aid for children have begun to be released…
Federal Family Minister Lisa Paus announced that 636 euros (approximately 18,550 Turkish lira) could be paid to provide a safe space for children at risk of poverty. Paus affirmed that in 2025 it will be possible to pay 530 euros for the youngest child and 636 euros for the oldest, and said that this figure is 12 percent more than the figure forecast for 2024.
Paus also stated that an increase of 3 percent is expected next year. Minister Paus stated: “It is enough that children have the same opportunities and participate more in social life.” In Germany, the coalition government has been working for a while on a more comprehensive aid package, replacing the current monthly child allowance of 250 euros (TL 7,291). However, the amount of aid that will be offered to the children was unknown.
THE GOVERNMENT AGREEMENT BUT…
The statement indicated that the amount to be given to children may increase or decrease depending on the age of the children and the income status of their families. Although the German government has been trying for some time to clarify the figure on this issue, there were disagreements between the Greens and the FDP on the amount.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Hubertus Heil, stated on Tuesday that the amount of aid should increase until 2024 to 357 euros for children under 6 years of age and up to 471 euros for children between 14 and 17 years of age.
