Documenting rights violations against civilians, SNHR published a report on the occasion of “June 20, World Refugee Day.”

In the report, it was pointed out that violations by the Syrian administration and other groups caused civilians to leave the country and said: “As long as human rights violations by the Syrian authorities continue, Syrian refugees will not return to their countries. , and we do not believe that these violations will end as long as the security units remain.” It was said.
Although Syria was included in the Arab league after 12 years, it was assessed as not being a safe country for refugees.
It was claimed that the Damascus administration detained hundreds of those who returned to the country, and it was noted that hundreds of them could not be heard. In this context, it was stated that at least 874 Syrians have been forcibly returned to their country from Lebanon since the beginning of April, and at least 87 of them have been detained.
SNHR noted that the Syrian administration has launched a security investigation against the returnees and is concerned that more Syrians will be detained.
CALL FOR RESEARCH ON DISASTERS OUTSIDE GREECE
