Death toll from extreme heat rises in Mexico
According to reports in the Mexican press, the loss of life is rapidly increasing due to record temperatures, especially in the northwest and southeast of the country.
The extreme heat that has been felt since the beginning of June has caused the death of 37 people.
In the statement issued by the Ministry of Health, it was indicated that 426 people went to hospitals with the complaint of heat stroke throughout the country, and some of them were in serious condition.
In the statement it was reported that the temperature in the state of Veracruz reached 43 degrees and 14 people died here, 8 people in the state of Tabasco, 3 people each in Oaxaca, Tamaulipas and Coahuila, and 2 people in Sonora, San Luis Potosí and states of Sinaloa.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN), when announcing that the heat wave at the national level is expected to last between 10 and 15 more days, recommended chronic patients not to go out at certain hours unless it is mandatory.
