Britain sends long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed in parliament that his country will supply Ukraine with “Storm Shadow” cruise missiles. Wallace claimed that in this way, Ukrainian forces could attack Russian troops, ammunition and fuel depots behind the front line.

Noting that the missiles will allow Ukraine to push back Russian forces on its sovereignty, Wallace said: “The granting of these missile systems gives Ukraine the best chance to defend itself against Russian atrocities.”

Expressing that they will not stand by while Russia kills civilians, Wallace said: “Russia must accept that its own actions led to the provision of such systems to Ukraine.” Minister Wallace stressed that these weapons were delivered to Ukraine “so that they could be used within its own sovereignty.”

The Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which will be supplied by the UK, are known to have a range of over 250 kilometres.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declared in February that they are ready to send long-range missiles to Ukraine and that the British government has launched a tender process for their supply. (AA)
