Loan volume increased by TL 82.3 billion last week

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Supervision and Regulation Agency (BDDK), the sector’s loan volume increased by TL 82.36 million as of May 5.

In said period, the total volume of loans increased from 8 trillion 889 billion 16 million liras to 8 trillion 971 billion 53 million liras.

Total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by 93 billion 66 million lira last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which increased 0.90 percent in the week in question, became 10 trillion 440.429 million lira.

CONSUMER LOANS

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by 8.746 million liras as of May 5 to 1.328.678 billion liras.

Of these loans, TL 415 billion 35 million consisted of housing loans, TL 75 billion 211 million vehicle loans and TL 838 billion 431 million consumer loans.

In said period, the amount of commercial loans with installments increased by 3,669 million liras and reached 1,03,188,000,000 liras. Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 13.599 billion liras to 644.88 billion liras.

340.736 million lira of personal credit card receivables were in installments, and 303.352 million lira were without installments.

NPL ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE DECREASED 640 MILLION TL

According to weekly data from BRSA, non-performing loans in the banking sector decreased by 640 million liras compared to the previous week and fell to 169.549 million liras as of May 5. A special provision has been reserved for TL 144 billion 502 million of the aforementioned delinquent accounts receivable.

In the same period, legal actions in the banking system increased by 23 million liras and reached 1 trillion 935 thousand 236 million liras. (AA)
