Wagner said they demanded the abolition of the death penalty against Sharmehd and the possibility of a fair and legal appeal.

Wagner, who did not provide information on the functions of the two employees of the Iranian Embassy in Berlin, whom Germany declared persona non grata, said that these people were “selected in such a way as to express the importance of the situation according to Iran.” .

Wagner noted that the German authorities were in contact with Sharmehd’s relatives, but were not in direct contact with him.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock criticized the death penalty for Sharmehd, saying: “The German government declared 2 members of the Iranian embassy persona non grata and gave them little time to leave Germany.” she had used the phrase.

THE REVOLUTIONARY COURT IN TEHRAN DECIDES

Iran had sentenced Sharmahd to death, who was allegedly the leader of a US-based anti-regime organization and was accused of “organizing terrorist acts” in the country.

According to the Mizan news agency, affiliated with the Iranian judiciary, Sharmahd, who is allegedly the leader of the US-based anti-regime group known as “Tonder” and “The Assembly of the Kingdom of Iran”, was sentenced to death. by the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of “making mischief in the world by planning and directing terrorist acts”.

The organization in question was accused of organizing some armed actions and sabotage across the country with the terrorist attack that killed 14 people and injured 215 people in the city of Shiraz on April 12, 2008.

The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that it had captured Sharmahd, who has dual Iranian-German citizenship and is known to have resided in the US since 2003, abroad and brought him to the country in July 2020.

His family stated that Sharmahd was “kidnapped” in the United Arab Emirates. (AA)
