Ukraine: 5 of our citizens lost their lives in the earthquake in Turkey
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said in a statement on social media that diplomats continue to help Ukrainian citizens affected by the earthquake.
Nikolenko said that the second consul group was sent to the earthquake zone to coordinate the search for the missing, support the victims and evacuate Ukrainians to other parts of Turkey and Ukraine.
Noting that there were 136 Ukrainian citizens in the earthquake area and 37 of them were evacuated, Nikolenko said: “The search for 7 missing people continues. Unfortunately, 5 Ukrainian citizens lost their lives in the earthquake.” saying.
Noting that steps have been taken to send the bodies of the deceased to Ukraine, Nikolenko said diplomats plan to evacuate 22 more Ukrainians from the earthquake zone in the near future. (AA)
