Meeting of NATO Defense Ministers opened with a minute of silence for Turkey
Defense ministers of NATO countries met after the Ukraine Defense Support Group Meeting at the NATO headquarters in Brussels to discuss many issues, especially support for Ukraine.
The opening of the meeting was held with a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives due to the earthquakes in Turkey.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, speaking on behalf of NATO allies, once again expressed his condolences to Turkey for those who lost their lives in the earthquake and said they will continue to provide Turkey with the support it needs.
Turkey is represented by Ambassador Levent Gümrükçü, Permanent Representative to NATO, in the meetings that the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar did not attend due to his work in the earthquake zone.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell are also attending the meeting. (AA)
