Iran has summoned the Ukrainian charge d’affaires following statements about a drone strike on an Iranian military factory. Michailo Podoljak tweeted about the “explosive night” in Iran, writing “Ukraine warned you”.
Podoljak links the attack on the Iranian arms factory to the war in his own country, where Russia uses Iranian drones. According to Ukraine and the United States, the Russians use these drones to attack civilian targets, among other things. Iran denies having supplied drones to Russia since its February 24 invasion, but acknowledges that small numbers have been supplied to Moscow to do so.

Russia has condemned the drone strike in Iran, calling it a “provocative” move that could exacerbate the tense situation. “Such destructive actions can have unpredictable consequences for peace and stability in the Middle East.”
Iran says its anti-aircraft system destroyed one drone and two others exploded. There would only be damage to the roof of the factory and no injuries would have been reported. A US official told Reuters news agency that it appears that Israel was behind the attack.
