886 Boko Haram terrorists await trial in Nigeria
Major General Christopher Musa, commander of the Hadin Kai Operation against the terrorists, said in a statement that significant successes were recorded in the operations carried out against the terrorists in the northeastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
Musa said that 886 terrorists captured in the operations are awaiting trial, while 323 terrorists have been transferred to the reintegration center.
Musa stated that since July 2021, 82,237 terrorists have surrendered to the army with their families.
More than 20,000 people lost their lives in the mass terrorist acts organized by Boko Haram, which has existed in Nigeria since the early 2000s, since 2009.
The terrorist organization has also carried out attacks in the country’s border neighbors Cameroon, Chad and Niger since 2015. At least 2,000 people have lost their lives in the organization’s attacks in the Lake Chad basin.
