After the elections, the rise in fuels exceeded 70 percent
Due to the increase in oil prices and the increase in the exchange rate, the increase in the SCT was also made after the increase in VAT.
After last week the VAT was increased from 18 percent to 20 percent with a Presidential Decision, today there was an increase in the amounts of the SCT.
Thus, the amount of the SCT on the price of a liter of 95 octane unleaded gasoline was 7.52 liras in total, and the excise tax on 98 octane unleaded gasoline was 7.99 liras per liter.
The SCT will be charged 7.05 liras per liter of diesel and 5.77 liras for LPG autogas.
With the decision, the amounts of the SCT have increased by 5 liras per liter in diesel and gasoline.
Before the regulation, TL 2.52 per liter was charged for gasoline and TL 2.05 for diesel fuel.
The reflection of these increases in the sale price at the gasoline and diesel pump, together with VAT, amounted to 6 lire. The LPG increase was 5 lire.
HIGHER RAISES OF MORE THAN 70 PERCENT AFTER THE ELECTION
After the 28th term presidential and parliamentary elections held on May 14, fuel prices rose one after another.
Added to fuel prices was the increase in VAT and SCT, which rose rapidly due to the increase in the dollar exchange rate after the elections.
After the presidential election on May 28, with the latest increase in the SCT, gasoline increased 69.79 percent. While gasoline was selling for 20.56 lira on May 28, it is currently selling for an average of 34.91 lira.
The increase in diesel after the elections has exceeded 71 percent. The current price of diesel, which was sold at 19.40 lira on May 28, is at the level of 33.18 lira.
Thus, the increase in gasoline, which on January 1 was 19.61 lire, has been 78 percent since the beginning of the year, while the increase in diesel since the beginning of the year has been 50.61 percent.
