SCT base regulation on electric cars
The base threshold for electric cars with an engine power of less than 160 kilowatts (kW) and subject to the 10 percent special consumption tax (SCT) has been increased from 1 million 250 thousand lira to 1 million 450 thousand lira.
The Presidential Decree on the subject came into force after being published in the Official Gazette.
THE BASE HAS CHANGED ON THESE CARS
With the decision, a change was made to the SCT base based on the SCT rate for passenger cars with solely electric motors with an engine power of less than 160 kW.
With the decision, the base threshold for the cars in question, which are subject to a 10 percent SCT rate, was increased from 1 million 250 thousand liras to 1 million 450 thousand liras.
Thus, cars that have only an electric motor and are within said tax base threshold will be available at a lower cost. TOGG cars are also included in this tax bracket. (AA, SÖZCÜ)
