Thousands of people have been hungry for days in Gaza’s Shifa hospital
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced that food for only 400 people was allowed into Sifa Hospital, where thousands of people were present for 8 days, and that 51 patients, including 4 premature babies, died during this period.
Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said in a written statement: “We have more than 7,000 people in Shifa hospital, which is under siege by Israel. The amount of food allowed inside is only enough for 400 people. “Patients in the hospital are suffering from hunger and pain, and the displaced cannot even find a piece of bread.”
Emphasizing that Åžifa Hospital has been completely cut off from the world due to loss of communication, Kudra noted that the garbage accumulated in the hospital represents a new threat to those trapped. Kudra said: “The occupation forces destroyed the infrastructure, water wells and oxygen network of Åžifa Hospital. “1,500 medical staff, hundreds of patients and more than 7,000 displaced people face death in the hospital,” he said.
ANOTHER HOSPITAL WAS BOMBED
The Israeli army attacked the Vefa hospital, which is used as a rehabilitation center for the elderly in the Gaza Strip.
According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli occupation forces bombed the Vefa hospital in the Zehra region of southern Gaza. In the attack, hospital director Mithat Muhaysin was killed and some doctors and patients were injured.
According to information from eyewitnesses, approximately 80 elderly people were receiving treatment in the hospital.
According to the Gaza government, more than 12,000 people, including 5,000 children and 3,300 women, have been killed in the Gaza Strip in Israeli attacks since October 7. (AA)
