Scandal in the country: The government signed an agreement with a country that does not exist
A crisis erupted in Paraguay when a government official signed an agreement with a fictitious country.
It turned out that the country called the United States of Kailasa, with which Arnaldo Chamorro, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, signed an agreement, does not actually exist. Chamorro, who fell into the trap of an illegal Indian guru who deceived other South American countries with the fake country he created, resigned when the incident was revealed.
The guru named Nithyananda, wanted in India on sexual assault charges, was determined to have explained teachings about the revival of the ancient Hindu civilization on the website he prepared for the United States of Kailasa.
THEY PROMISED HELP
U.S. representatives from Kailasa reportedly met with officials from Paraguay’s Ministry of Agriculture in October and agreed to establish diplomatic relations.
Chamorro, who admitted that he knew nothing about the country, said he signed the agreement because officials from the fake country committed to helping Paraguay on issues such as irrigation.
As the scandal caused uproar in the country, the government announced that a new name had been appointed to replace Chamorro.
