Kremlin: Israel cannot guarantee security by destroying Hamas
Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuriy Ushakov claimed that Israel cannot guarantee security by destroying Hamas, saying: “Hatred and terrorism can break out again after a while.”
Ushakov, who attended the 9th International Primakov Lectures Forum held in the capital Moscow, made remarks about the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Stating that “tragic” events were occurring in the Gaza Strip, Ushakov said: “Even if Hamas is destroyed and the Gaza Strip drowns in blood, Israel’s security cannot be guaranteed. After a while, hatred and terrorism may break out again. “This should not be ignored,” he said.
Ushakov affirmed that the problem in the region has the capacity to grow and spread.
Assessing the US policy on the Palestine issue, Ushakov said: “The region has erupted again due to the destructive policy of the United States and the attempt of the Americans to resolve the Palestinian knot alone. The bloody scenario of the Palestine-Israel issue was predictable. The US policy of supporting one side and solving the problem alone led to a serious crisis. “These tragic events and the disastrous humanitarian situation are causing the United States and the West to lose their moral authority,” he said.
