Countries’ call to ‘stop the slaughter in Gaza’ angered Netanyahu
In the statement from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who did not find the support he expected regarding the massacre in Gaza, there was a reaction to the statements of De Croo and Sánchez. The Prime Minister’s statement stated that Netanyahu condemned the words of the two leaders.
According to the press release of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors working in Israel were summoned to the Ministry and conveyed a message of condemnation of the statements by the leaders of the two countries.
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen also accused the prime ministers of Spain and Belgium of supporting terrorism.
Cohen condemned the two leaders and affirmed that Israel respected international law in Gaza.
Furthermore, Cohen reiterated that his attacks on the Gaza Strip will continue following the humanitarian response to the conflict.
REACTION TO THE MASSACRES IN PALESTINE
Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez said in his statement at the Rafah border in Egypt: “If the EU does not recognize the Palestinian state, Spain will make its own decision.” he said.
Sánchez had told Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he met separately in Jerusalem, that “Israel’s right to defend itself does not include the murder of innocent civilians in Gaza, including thousands of children.”
Belgian Prime Minister De Croo, after meeting Netanyahu during his visit to Israel, emphasized that they do not want another 10 thousand people to die and said: “Israel must do more to avoid civilian casualties.” he said. (AA)
