Brazilian businessman escaped 13 days after being kidnapped in Switzerland
Brazilian businessman Márcio Rodrigues, who mysteriously disappeared during his business trip to Switzerland 13 days ago, reportedly managed to escape his kidnappers and contacted his family.
Márcio Rodrigues, 44, contacted his wife and sister on Tuesday, and they were able to locate him and contact some friends who were accompanying the police.
“We contacted some friends close to Márcio’s whereabouts and they took him to the police station,” Rodrigues’ brother-in-law Carlos Cera told Brazilian online news outlet G1. saying.
According to Cera, Rodrigues told police about his experience and was instructed not to reveal any details of the investigation. His brother-in-law refused to provide information about how he managed to escape.
While at the airport on November 8, Rodrigues first messaged his wife, Ana Cera, at 5:45 a.m. local time in Brazil. In the voicemail received at 1:32 p.m., he said that she felt like a victim of a scam and that her passport was taken away while he was still at the airport. It took hours for his wife to contact the man again, who claimed he had trouble speaking English.
