The first images of 41 workers trapped in the rubble for 9 days have been published.
The first images from inside have been released of 41 workers trapped in the tunnel that collapsed under construction in India for 9 days.
In the state of Uttarakhand, rescue efforts have continued for days for 41 workers who were trapped when a part of the tunnel under construction collapsed during road works. The authorities stopped the rescue work after detecting that the drill was damaged due to the creaking noise coming from inside the tunnel during the work over the weekend.
As rescue teams continued their work after the arrival of their new machines in the region, the first images of workers fighting for days under the collapsed tunnel created excitement in the country. Workers were seen standing in a small area talking to rescuers.
Workers receive oxygen, medicine and food through a pipe. On the other hand, there is concern that some of the workers under the rubble have health problems and that the rescue efforts are becoming longer and longer.
Crews are trying to dig a space 60 meters underground with drilling machines that workers can crawl out of, but work is progressing slowly because of concerns about a new collapse in the tunnel.
Authorities stated that the workers tried to maintain their health in the dark, cramped rubble by sleeping, doing yoga and talking frequently, and that their morale was good.
