Attack on a far-right politician with a beer bottle
In the Netherlands, where elections will be held this week, Thierry Baudet, leader of the far-right party called the Forum for Democracy, was attacked in Groningen.
In images posted on social media platform X, Baudet is attacked by a person in a bar. While the attacker attacked the politician with a beer bottle, the images also recorded that Baudet was hit at least 3 times.
The people at the bar intervened and took Baudet away from the premises. It was announced that Baudet, 40, was hospitalized and undergoing treatment. A security guard was also reported to have been injured in the attack.
While the Dutch police announced that the attacker was captured, they announced that it is not yet known why the attacker carried out such an attack.

Another Baudet demonstration scheduled yesterday was also cancelled. Baudet was attacked on the campus of Ghent University in Belgium last month. In that attack, the attacker hit Baudet in the head with an umbrella.
The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, who decided to resign, said on his social media platform: “The attack on Baudet is in no way acceptable. I have said it before and I repeat it very clearly now. “Don’t touch the politicians,” he said.
