3-year-old boy killed his 2-year-old brother
In the US state of Indiana, a 2-year-old baby was murdered by his 3-year-old brother with a gun he found in his mother’s purse.
In the incident that occurred last Friday, the mother called the police and said her son shot his little brother. Although the mother, whose name was not shared, quickly took her injured son to the hospital, the interventions were not enough to save the two-year-old baby.
Although forensic medicine determined that the incident was an accident, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that investigations continue.
No charges were filed against the children’s mother.
The police department appealed to citizens across the state to purchase a gun safe case or gun lock.
The mayor and police chief appeared on camera and said the incident was a reminder that all firearms should be stored safely, out of the reach of children.
