UN: we regret Israel’s reaction

UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric made a statement to journalists during the daily press conference. Dujarric said the UN would continue to fulfill its mandate but would not be “involved in the process of building a safe zone.”

THE DECISION WAS MADE AT THE UNSC ON THE FIFTH ATTEMPT

Yesterday, in the fifth attempt by the UN Security Council, the resolution calling for an “immediate and prolonged pause” to the conflict in Gaza was accepted with 12 “yes” votes.

The decision states that the intervals in question must be “sufficient days” under international humanitarian law and calls on the UN and its partners for uninterrupted, rapid and secure access for humanitarian aid.
