Prank call to the Latvian Foreign Minister
Russian comedians Aleksandr Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov, nicknamed Lexus and Vovan, who became famous for their prank calls, posed as an African politician and made a prank call to Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins.
Karins said during the speech: “We understand that this war will not end quickly. This will cost us all dearly because we always help Ukrainians. Ultimately, this means spending money on aid to Ukraine. “We are not happy with this either, but we see no other option,” he said.
Karins stated that the embargo imposed on Russia will only make sense if all EU countries implement it simultaneously, noting that otherwise trade will continue through countries such as Finland, Lithuania and Estonia.
Karins had previously announced that Latvia sent more than 1.3 percent of its GDP as aid to Ukraine, with more than 1 percent going to kyiv’s defense needs.
Latvia had delivered to kyiv all the Stinger-type anti-missile complexes in its military inventory.
THEY ALSO PLAYED A PRANK ON MELONI BEFORE
The same comedians made a prank phone call to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni last month, and Meloni said that Ukraine’s counterattack, which had gone on for about five months, had not brought about any change on the ground and that now everyone was tired of the Ukraine issue.
