Russia’s reaction to Israel: unacceptable
The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zakharova, appreciated the statement by the Israeli Minister of Heritage, Amihai Eliyahu, about the possibility of using a nuclear bomb in Gaza, which is under blockade.
Mariya Zakharova said: “We consider these statements to be provocative, completely unacceptable and extremely noteworthy for certain reasons. ” he said.
Emphasizing that such statements mean that all civilians in the Gaza Strip are threatened with nuclear weapons, Zaharova said:
“Is this a genocidal threat? There is and cannot be any justification for such statements. “These statements not only confirm that Israel has nuclear weapons, but also show its willingness to evaluate the possibility of using these weapons in inappropriate scenarios.”
WHAT HAPPENED?
Israeli Minister Eliyahu said in a radio program he recently attended that using a nuclear bomb was one of the possibilities for Gaza.
Following this statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indefinitely suspended Eliyahu from cabinet meetings.
Former Prime Minister Yair Lapid called on Netanyahu to remove Eliyahu.
Following reactions to his outrageous comments about the Gaza Strip, Eliyahu stepped back and argued that his statement about the nuclear bomb was “metaphorical.” (AA)
