Mutual attacks on the border between Israel and Lebanon
In Lebanon, Hezbollah fired at least 8 rockets into and around the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Some of the rockets were shot down in mid-air by the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system.
Tel Aviv responded to Hezbollah’s attack with intense artillery fire.
Israel’s attack took place in the Ahmadiyya city of the Mercayun district, located on the border with southern Lebanon.
The sirens sounded
The statement issued by the Israeli army states that sirens sounded in northern Israel due to 20 rockets fired from Lebanese territory.
The statement, which did not provide information on whether there was any loss of life in the attack, noted that Israeli forces launched artillery fire at the areas where the rockets were fired.
CONCERN OF THE ‘NEW FRONT’
As fighting between Israel and Hamas passes a month, there are concerns that the war in the region will spread to a new front.
In clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since October 8, 63 Hezbollah members and 4 Israeli soldiers were killed. (AA)
