Successive attacks on US bases

The US military base at Harab Cir airport in Hasakah and its base at the Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zor were reported to have been attacked with ground-to-ground weapons.

While it is unknown if there was any loss of life in the attacks, security measures around the bases have been increased.

Iranian-backed groups occasionally attack US bases on the east bank of the Euphrates River with rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Iranian state television published a news report on October 19 explaining how Israel could be attacked by its allies in the region if its attacks on Gaza were not stopped.

The video news showed on the map that Israel would be attacked simultaneously with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles by Hezbollah from the north, by militias in Iraq and Syria from the east, and by the Houthis in Yemen from the south.

Iran had asked many times at the highest level to stop Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

In a speech on October 17, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that “resistance forces” would take action if Israel’s attacks continued.

Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan, in his statement on October 19, also expressed the possibility of the Palestinian-Israeli conflicts spreading to the region.

Iran calls Lebanon’s Hezbollah, the militias it supports in Syria and Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen “resistance forces.”
