US warning to Hezbollah
“Hezbollah should not take advantage of ongoing conflicts,” White House spokesman John Kirby said at a news conference.
Kirby noted that the United States does not want the conflict between Israel and Hamas to expand to Lebanon.
BLINKEN: WE ARE VERY CLEAR
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also held a press conference in Tel Aviv after his meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and different members of the government.
“We have been very clear from the beginning that a second or third front should not be opened in this conflict,” Blinken said in response to a question about Hezbollah and Lebanon.
WHAT DID NASRALAH SAY?
In his statement today, Hezbollah leader Nasrallah said: “The Al-Aqsa flood war has spread to more than one front” in connection with Hamas attacks against Israel.
Nasrallah said: “We went to war in Lebanon on October 8. Our forces fight on all fronts and day by day they intensify operations. “In this way, Israel is forced to keep its forces on the Lebanese border,” he said.
Referring to statements by the leader of the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, Netanyahu said: “I say to our enemies in the north: do not test us, you will pay a high price for this.” (REUTERS-AA)
