Activities are suspended at the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza

The Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the only hospital treating cancer patients in Gaza, where Israel bombed, announced that it has stopped its activities.

Israel also bombed the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital earlier in the week, attacking hospitals in the Gaza Strip. Hospital director Subhi Sukeyk said: “Israeli planes bombed the third and top floor of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the only hospital for cancer patients in the Gaza Strip, causing serious damage.”

At his press conference today, Sukeyk said the hospital has used up all its fuel and can no longer provide service. Sukeyk said: “We call on the world not to let cancer patients die.”

‘ŞİFA HOSPITAL IS NEXT’

Palestinian Health Minister Maya Keyle also announced that the number of hospitals that have ceased operations in Gaza has increased to 35. The Minister stressed that approximately 70 patients receiving treatment at the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital are at risk of death.

Noting that 2,000 displaced cancer patients who were exposed to heavy shelling suffered a disaster, Minister Keyle stated that 81 patients in Gaza were transferred to Egypt from the Rafah border gate for treatment.

Stating that Gaza’s largest medical complex, Åžifa Hospital, will have to end its operations in less than 24 hours due to fuel shortages, Keyle said: “This hospital provides health services for emergencies, surgical interventions, kidney failure , intensive care and babies in incubators.” (AGENCIES)
