Germany announced: Turks became leaders in asylum, thousands of Turks fled the country

The Turks left Syrians and Afghans behind when they entered Germany illegally.

In October alone, 9,000 Turkish citizens entered Germany illegally from the borders of Eastern Europe and “requested asylum.” Thus, the Turks surpassed the Syrians and Afghans fleeing the war and took first place in asylum. It was stated that the number of those who entered the country without being captured and who were not registered is not clear.

“THIS YEAR 100 THOUSAND TURKS WILL COME”

While the German newspaper Die Welt published the headline “Turks suddenly rise to first place”, the administrations of the states where the Turks entered illegally prepared a report.

According to the report, there are two main reasons for the Turks’ flight. The first is the elections held in March and the second is the high inflation and financial difficulties of the country.

While it was stated that more than 40 thousand Turks applied for asylum last year, it is estimated that this number will exceed 90 thousand this year and reach 100 thousand. Currently it is estimated that around 50,000 Turks travel the roads of Eastern Europe to enter Germany.

FORESTS AND TRAIN ROUTES

It is alleged that when Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland began border controls, human traffickers abandoned fugitives in areas close to the borders. Illegals, on the other hand, try to enter Germany by passing through forests in border areas, secondary roads or along train tracks.

According to the first data from the German Undersecretariat for Immigration and Asylum, which has not yet been officially made public, the number of people who arrived illegally from Eastern Europe this year reached 300,000. The largest increase was experienced by the Turks.
THE ASYLUM ACCEPTANCE RATE IS 14 PERCENT

The acceptance rate for Turks’ asylum applications is 14 percent.

Since the European Union has granted Turkey the status of a “country without war or crisis”, asylum applications from Turkish citizens are not accepted. However, Turks whose asylum is not accepted somehow find their way and stay in Germany. So far there have been no mass repatriations, except for those who committed serious crimes.
