Israel: Ground operation against Gaza could last months
Israeli Defense Minister Galant made the statement at the “Air Force Operations Command” meeting near the Gaza border.
Galant says here: “There is nothing that can stop the Israeli army. The operational aspect of the maneuver (Israel’s name for its attacks on Gaza) consists of air capabilities and ground operations. The ground operation in Gaza must be the last war there because there will be no Hamas afterwards. “This may take a month, two or three months, but in the end there will be no Hamas left.” he said.
The Israeli military had previously announced that it had intensified airstrikes to reduce threats that Israeli forces could face in Gaza in preparation for the next phase of the “war” (ground operation).
ATTACK ON THE UNION CARRYING OUT OPERATION GAZA
According to the written statement of the Israeli army spokesperson, a tank and construction equipment belonging to the Israeli army were hit by an anti-tank missile while operating in Gaza.
One Israeli soldier was reported killed in the attack and two soldiers, including one, were slightly wounded.
It was stated that Israeli soldiers were attacked while carrying out a specific operation in the Gaza Strip “to eliminate the infrastructure of armed groups in the region, clear the area of weapons and identify the locations and bodies of Israeli prisoners.”
ISRAEL-HAMAS CONFLICT
Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, called the “Aqsa Flood.”
As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.
Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
It was reported that 1,400 Israelis, including 306 soldiers, were killed and 5,132 Israelis were wounded in the attacks carried out from Gaza.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza announced that 4,651 people, including 1,873 children and 1,023 women, were killed and 14,245 people were injured in Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
It was claimed that 90 Palestinians were killed in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.

In clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah on the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8, 22 Hezbollah members and 4 civilians, including a journalist, lost their lives.
