International Federation of Journalists: 16 journalists killed in clashes in Gaza
The number of journalists killed was updated with the written statement made on the IFJ website.
The statement states that “in the ongoing clashes between Hamas and Israel in Gaza, 16 journalists have been killed so far and many others have been injured and missing.”
The journalists who lost their lives were “Muhammad Ali, Halil Abu Azira, Semih en-Nadi, Isam Behar, Muhammad BeluÅŸe, Abdulhadi Habib, Husam Mubarak, Ahmed Åžihab, Muhammad Fayiz Yusuf Abu Matar, Said et-Tavil, Muhammed Subh, Hisham In Nawaciha, they were announced as “Assad Shamleh, Muhammed es-Salihi, İbrahim Lafi and Muhammed Cerun.”
The statement stated that there was no news of a journalist and a photojournalist.
The IFJ also called on journalists working in the field to “take necessary precautions, wear safety equipment and not go out into the field unless the media institutions they work for provide them with this equipment.”
Previous statements claimed that 13 journalists were killed in Israeli attacks. (AA)
