Mahmoud Abbas: Hamas does not represent Palestine
Palestinian President Abbas said Israel’s attacks on Gaza should stop immediately and emergency humanitarian aid corridors should be allowed to open.
Abbas said Israel’s attacks on Gaza should stop immediately and emergency humanitarian aid corridors should be allowed to open.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, Abbas had a telephone conversation with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
During the meeting, Abbas said: “Israel’s attack on Gaza must stop immediately. “Palestinians must be protected, humanitarian aid corridors must be allowed to open to Gaza, and water, electricity and fuel must be delivered to citizens there,” he said.
Abbas, who is completely against the forced migration of people from Gaza, emphasized that this will be the second Nakba.
Abbas declared that he was against the killing of civilians on both sides and called on both sides to release detainees, captives and civilians.
Reiterating that he is against violence and noting that Hamas does not have the authority to represent the Palestinian people, Abbas said: “What will end the occupation is the need for a political solution. The only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people is the Palestine Liberation Organization, with its decisions, programs and policies. “They are not another organization’s policies,” he said.
