Annual producer inflation in agriculture was 71.96 in September

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the producer price index of agricultural products for September 2023.

Consequently, in Agriculture-PPI (2015=100), there will be an increase of 4.47 percent in September 2023 compared to the previous month, an increase of 46.58 percent compared to December of the previous year and a increase of 71.96 percent compared to the same month. From the previous year, according to the increase and twelve-month averages, there was an increase of 91.66 percent.

Across the sectors, compared to the previous month, there was a 1.23 percent decrease in fish and other fishery products, a 4.50 percent increase in agricultural and hunting products and related services, and an increase of 8.54 percent on forest products and related services. In the main groups, there was a 3.28 percent increase in annual plant products, a 4.74 percent increase in perennial plant products and a 6.10 percent increase in live animals and animal products in compared to the previous month.

THE GREATEST INCREASE IS FOUND IN THE FRUITS

The subgroups with the lowest annual increase were cereals (except rice) with 26.19 percent, legumes and oilseeds and paddy rice with 50.65 percent, respectively. For their part, the subgroups with the greatest annual increase were grapes with 154.83 percent and pome and stone fruits with 146.92 percent, respectively. The only subgroup that showed a decrease compared to the same month of the previous year was fibrous plants with 5.93 percent.

The subgroups with the lowest increase compared to the previous month are cereals (except rice), legumes and oilseeds with 1.80 percent, and sheep and goats with 2.86 percent; They had raw milk and wool. The subgroups with the highest monthly increase were oilseed fruits with 31.62 percent and other fruits and nuts of trees and shrubs with 24.05 percent.

In September 2023, of the 84 items included in the index, there was a decrease in the average price of 22 items and an increase in the average price of 57 items.
