Confession of Israel’s intelligence services: there were signs of a Hamas incursion

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said they received intelligence signals that there were some preparations the night before attacks launched from the blockaded Gaza Strip, but there was no concrete intelligence warning for such an attack.

Assessing criticism that there was a security weakness in the attacks launched by Palestinian groups from Gaza on October 7, Israeli army spokesman Hagari said: “There was no concrete intelligence warning about this incident. We could not understand such an event. There were some signs of intelligence the night before, but no such movement. “We will investigate everything thoroughly,” he said.

Hagari claimed that they attacked the homes and bases of the elite commando units of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, which were involved in attacks on surrounding Israeli settlements from the Gaza Strip. Stating that they received information about “tunnels, launch pads, assembly points, military positions” in Gaza from wounded Palestinian armed elements, Hagari stated that they will settle scores with all those who participated in the attack.

TENSE WAIT AT THE BORDER

Stating that the Israeli army is making preparations against a possible attack from the north, the spokesman said that soldiers are patrolling the residential areas of the region, setting up checkpoints, preparing traps in the countryside and that the region will be reinforced with more troops. .

Meanwhile, the Israeli military’s written statement states that the senior leader of the Qassam marine units, Mohammed Abu Shamla, was killed in the strikes carried out in the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip overnight. In the statement, it was stated that ammunition intended for naval attacks was hidden in Åžamla’s house. (AA)
