Retirees look at January increase

How much is the pension increase and when will it be announced?

In his statement on the increase in pensions, the President pointed to the end of the year and said: “At the beginning of the year we will review the situation of our retirees and make all the sacrifices.” He made a statement. If inflation in 2023 reaches 60 percent, six-month inflation will reach 35 percent.

WHEN WILL THE PENSION INCREASE BE ANNOUNCED?

Retirees are eagerly awaiting news of pension increases to alleviate their financial difficulties. SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees receive two increases, in January and July.

The pension increase will be determined by the inflation rate to be announced in December.

NO EMPLOYEE BONUSES

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that a one-time payment of 5,000 liras will be paid to retirees after the cabinet meeting held the previous day.

However, the fact that the single bonus did not cover retirees who continued to work caused great disappointment among retired citizens who had to work.

While working retirees complained about not being able to benefit from the bonus that would be given to them, retirees who would benefit from the 5 thousand lira bonus complained about the small amount.

“DUE TO FORCE MAJEURE…”

The last point on the scope of the bonus was made by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan.

Responding to journalists’ questions on the issue before the AKP Grand National Assembly Group meeting, Işıkhan said: “We have completed the agreement. Congratulations to our retirees. We excluded working retirees from the scope. For reasons of force majeure, we had to restrict our budget. This was the maximum result we could achieve. There is no other work involved. “As a social state, our target group was to include retirees suffering from financial difficulties,” he said.
