Biden: 11 US citizens lost their lives in clashes
US President Joe Biden reported that hundreds of innocent civilians were killed in Hamas attacks against Israel this weekend and that at least 11 US citizens were among these people.
Stating that some American citizens, whose number he did not specify, are still missing, Biden stated that they are working with Israeli officials to obtain information about the whereabouts of these people.
WERE US CITIZENS TAKEN COMMUNITY?
Biden emphasized that the safety of American citizens at home and abroad is among his priorities, saying, “While we are still trying to confirm this, we believe that American citizens may be among those taken hostage by Hamas.”
Noting that he ordered his team to work with Israeli officials on all aspects of the “hostage crisis,” Biden outlined commercial and ground flight options for U.S. citizens who want to leave Israel.
Biden also stated that security has been increased around Jewish centers in the US and that the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and other relevant agencies are closely monitoring a threat that may be related to the “terrorist attack” in question.
“WE ARE INDIVIDUAL PARTNERS OF ISRAEL”
In a message of solidarity with Israelis, Biden said: “We will continue to show the world that the American people are unwavering in their determination to oppose all forms of terrorism.”
Biden said the United States and Israel are “integral partners.” (AA)
