Kosovo accuses Serbia of “annexation”
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke about rising tensions with Serbia at the panel titled “Berlin Process: achievements so far, expectations from the next summit and possible benefits of regional initiatives towards the common market”, organized by the Pristina Institute of Political Studies (PIPS). ).
“While we are sitting at the dialogue table in Brussels and at the Berlin Process Summit to reach an agreement for the future, Serbia is working on military plans to annex our territory, as we saw a week ago,” Kurti said. “This shows that our northern neighbor is not interested in regional cooperation to become a member of the EU,” he said.
Kurti said that the three regional agreements reached by the countries of the region within the framework of the Berlin Process were approved by Kosovo, but it is regrettable that the agreements were not approved by some countries.
The Berlin Process was established in 2014 in Berlin, the capital of Germany, with the aim of increasing cooperation between the six Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia) and promoting effective cooperation between the EU. and the region.
The next summit of the Berlin Process will be held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on October 16. (AA)
