Mitsotakis commented on Erdogan after critical meeting

Last month, a critical threshold was crossed on the Ankara-Athens line, where tensions have been high in recent years, and President Erdoğan met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Mitsotakis made some statements after the meeting and spoke to the Greek media.

Mitsotakis said: “The meeting with Erdogan was good in terms of chemistry. I have been in the same position since 2019, I am stable. I must tell you that this meeting was good for personal chemistry. I’m not naive. The president of Türkiye has changed in the past. “I don’t believe and I hope this will happen again,” he said.

After the foreign ministers of both countries held preliminary meetings, a proper foundation was laid and Erdoğan and Mitsotakis met in New York in September.

Greek Prime Minister: “So far we have reached an agreement on some issues, I can say them clearly. Reduce tension, fly fighter planes in areas close to borders, something we will never accept. “We’ve seen this and it’s been going on for several months,” he said.

Recalling that he addressed Turkish citizens at the United Nations General Assembly in New York last year, Mitsotakis said: “At that time, I spoke directly to Turkish citizens and told them that I was not their enemy, that I was not had an invasive approach. towards Türkiye and that I was not a threat. “It makes me happy to see logic come to the fore,” he said.
