100 packages of raki exceeded 900 TL
Following the increase in Excise Tax and VAT rates at the beginning of July, the cost of alcoholic beverages, which had increased repeatedly, has also increased from this month.
The president of the Tekel Dealers Assistance Association (TBYD), Erol Dündar, stated that the increase in the cost of alcoholic beverages was especially felt in the prices of raki.
Consequently, the price of a 70-liter bottle of raki varies depending on the brand and series, from 589 TL to 669 TL; The price of 100 cups of raki reached 920 TL.
Thus, raki prices have increased by around 32 percent since the beginning of the year. Compared with the same month last year, the increase in raki prices exceeded 65 percent.
70 cups of Raki WITHOUT TAX is 174 LIRA
On the other hand, the tax on a 70-liter bottle of raki, which increased to 500 lira with the increase in the SCT in July, was 342.58 TL.
Tax expert Ozan Bingöl announced that the tax on raki increased to 355 lira after the latest increase this month.
According to Bingöl’s calculation, the duty-free price of a 70-liter bottle of raki with an alcohol content of 45 percent is 174.37 TL.
Bingöl stated that 266.47 TL SCT and 88.16 TL VAT will be collected from this product: “The total tax is 354.63 TL. “In other words, we will have paid around 355 Turkish lira in taxes for a product whose value is 174 Turkish lira,” he said.
INCREASE OF 5 TL IN CIGARETTES PER PACKAGE
On the other hand, Özgür Aybaş, president of the Turkish Monopoly Distributors Platform, announced that at the end of September the products of a cigarette group increased by 5 lira per pack.
Aybaş stated that this increase will also be reflected in other cigarette groups in the coming days.
