Meta smart glasses: they will be able to take photographs and broadcast live

Meta presented the other day the artificial intelligence-backed sunglasses it developed with the American eyewear manufacturer Ray-Ban.

The glasses, which broadcast live on Facebook and Instagram thanks to the camera they wear, can respond to the user’s voice commands thanks to artificial intelligence.

In a statement on the topic, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “Sometimes we develop an innovation that hasn’t been introduced before, and this can be great, but it can also be very expensive. “We want to offer this to everyone, even for free,” he said.

Sharing details of the glasses, which will be available for $299 on October 17, Zuckerberg also stated that new technology is used in the glasses’ camera and that voice commands can be given thanks to artificial intelligence.

Wearers of the glasses, which have a 6-hour battery life, will be able to start a live stream on Facebook or Instagram by shouting “Hey Meta.” It was also noted that the glasses will be able to recognize places, objects and people through a software update next year. It was stated that translations can also be made with the new software.

RESISTANT TO LIGHT RAIN

The system, which features a 12-megapixel camera and 5 microphones, also includes a separate speaker system. In this way, the user will be able to make phone calls in “hands-free” mode.

It was also stated that the glasses case will be touch sensitive and thus the device can be used more easily.

In Meta’s statement it was also highlighted that the device is water resistant and is in the IPX4 category. The company’s statement said: “Even if you get caught in light rain, there will be no problem.”
