The Tripartite Consultative Council will meet for the first time in 5 years

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will convene the Tripartite Advisory Board. Work has begun to reconvene the Tripartite Advisory Council, which last met on October 15, 2018.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security sent a letter to TÃœRK-Ä°Åž, HAK-Ä°Åž, the Confederation of Turkish Employers’ Associations (TÄ°SK) and relevant institutions, requesting that the topics to be discussed at the meeting be notified to the Ministry before October. 2.

Unlike previous meetings, no letter was sent to the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), while Memur-Sen, Türkiye Kamu-Sen and KESK joined those whose opinions were sought.

The Ministry is expected to evaluate the issues coming from the confederations of workers, employers and officials and convene the Board before the end of the year.

HE LAST MET 5 YEARS AGO

Türk-İş General Secretary Pevrul Kavlak, Hak-İş President Mahmut Arslan, DİSK President Arzu Çerkezoğlu, TİSK General Secretary Akansel Koç and representatives of various unions attended the meeting organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security 5 years ago.

At this meeting, the issues of inflationary increase in the minimum wage, subcontracted workers in state companies, obstacles to union organization and dismissal compensation were discussed. (AA)
