Fire in a wedding hall in Mosul: 100 dead and 500 injured
Ahmed Hamdani, deputy director of the Mosul Health Department, said in a statement to local media that 100 people were killed and 500 injured in the fire at the wedding hall in Mosul’s Hamdaniye district.
The fire broke out due to fireworks launched at the wedding hall. It was learned that there were approximately 800 people in the wedding hall.
The Iraqi news agency INA previously reported, based on a source from the Mosul Health Department, that according to early conclusions, 100 people were killed and 150 injured in the fire.
While many firefighters and ambulances from surrounding provinces were sent to the fire area, it was announced that Interior Minister Abdulemir Shammari would also travel to the region.
