Striking claim: Dozens of Russian commanders died in naval attack
Ukraine claimed that senior Russian commanders were killed yesterday in the missile attack on the Russian navy headquarters in Sevastopol.
The missile attack on the Russian Black Sea Navy headquarters in Sevastopol on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014, was one of the biggest blows to Russia in the war that began last year.
The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvojayev, asked citizens not to go to the city center or leave buildings.
The statement made today by the Ukrainian military said that dozens of people, including Russian navy commanders, were killed in the attack that caused a fire at the navy headquarters. Ukraine claimed that Russian commanders were meeting at the base during the attack.
