Charles Michel, president of the European Council, told a news conference in New Delhi: “It is difficult to predict whether it will be possible to reach an agreement on the declaration. We are still negotiating,” he said.

India, which is chairing the meeting, wants the final declaration of the summit to include the views of Russia and China, which are hindering attempts by Western countries to strongly condemn Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend the summit and will send Premier Li Qiang in his place, while Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the summit.

With leaders including US President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida confirming their participation, it will be the highest-attended summit ever. organized India.
