11 million tourists arrived in Antalya by air

Kaan Kavaloğlu, President of the Association of Mediterranean Tour Operators and Hoteliers, said that the number of foreign tourists arriving in Antalya by air in the January-August period increased by 20 percent compared to the same period last year, exceeding 11 million.

Kavaloğlu stated that the number of foreign tourists arriving in the city by air in 8 months of the year exceeded 11 million, saying, “The number of guests coming from our main market, Russia, increased by 32.5 percent compared to with the same period of the year. last year. Antalya was the favorite holiday destination for Russians. Our other major source of volume is Germany. From here we receive more than 2 million German tourists. There is a growth of 17.3 percent in this market,” he stated.

RECORD VISITORS FROM ENGLAND

Kavaloğlu noted that the UK market, which ranks third among the countries that send the most tourists to the city, broke an all-time record with almost 1 million visitors, noting that this market has grown by 15 percent compared to the last year.

Explaining that this country is followed by Poland, Kavaloğlu said: “Poland is an important resource with great potential. Compared to last year, an increase of 40 percent was observed.” he gave the information.

Kavaloğlu noted that there was a significant loss in the Ukrainian market due to the war, but a growing trend has been detected recently.
