The US State Department issued a written statement on the talks. Consequently, Blinken, in his meeting with President Abbas, expressed concern about the “continuation of violence in the West Bank.”
Blinken noted that the United States will continue to support measures that will increase the quality of life, security, and freedoms of the Palestinian people.
Abbas and Blinken reiterated their support for the two-state solution, stressing that they oppose actions that would endanger it.
INTERVIEW WITH NETANYAHU
Blinken also confirmed the US commitment to Israel’s security in a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Blinken stressed that the United States will continue to support policies that improve the security and well-being of the Israeli and Palestinian people.
Discussing common interests, the two also discussed Israel’s regional integration and the fight against the threat posed by Iran. (AA)
