Prime Minister’s claim: Military equipment fell into the hands of militants
Anvarul Hak Kakar, prime minister of the interim government that will rule Pakistan until general elections, told reporters in his office in Islamabad that military equipment left by the United States reached the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) stationed in Afghanistan after the militants fell into the hands of militants in Afghanistan.
Kakar said that this equipment, which includes a wide range from night vision goggles to firearms, increases the combat capability of the TTP and this situation “creates a new problem” for Islamabad.
Kakar, who has not provided any evidence to support his claim and has not established a direct link between the Taliban administration in Afghanistan and the TTP, stressed that a “coordinated approach” must be taken to combat this problem.
Kakar said Pakistani security forces will continue to fight the militants to protect homes, children, mosques and places of worship.
