Twerk disgrace in the military cemetery
Two sisters, whose father died defending Ukraine against Russian occupation, danced and twerked at the graves of deceased soldiers. The sisters who posted the images they took on the internet face jail terms…
According to the Dailymail story, the two sisters, who made a statement about the reactions, defended themselves by saying they would find these actions of their father at the grave amusing. Later, the sisters admitted that they had made a mistake and that the video was inappropriate.
Ukrainian police saw the images and caused a great deal of anger after the girls shared the images on Instagram. In less than an hour, the Ukrainian police located the girls and arrested them. Authorities confirmed that the two unnamed brothers would be charged with grave desecration and could face up to five years in prison.
“WE REGRET”
One of the sisters, who took a statement after the reactions, made the following statement:
* My sister and I apologize. We honor every soldier who died for our country. We visited the tomb of our father, martyred near Izium. Unfortunately it was not very accurate to post this type of video, but it was not our intention to defame the heroes.
* Our behavior was linked to our understanding of our late father’s view of funeral traditions. So we didn’t see anything wrong at the time but now we regret it.
THE SCANDAL EVENT OCCURRED ON AUGUST 24
The sisters caused the scandal on August 24 while visiting their father’s grave in the forest cemetery in the Ukrainian capital, kyiv. In the phone footage, two teenage sisters dressed in black tops and tight shorts are seen dancing as they stand among soldiers’ graves decorated with flowers and the Ukrainian flag.
One of the girls is first seen placing the phone to record near the soldiers’ graves, then she begins to sway with her arms raised in the air. Her sister, who appears to be on the phone, later joins them and is seen twerking on camera.
The sisters’ father was reportedly a soldier from the 95th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who was killed near Izium in the eastern Donetsk region.
