Shock on TikTok for Momika who burned the Quran
Officials of the popular social media platform TikTok announced that the monetization feature of Momika’s account has been shut down. In a statement to the official Swedish news agency TT, Momika said the Quran-bashing videos, which she streamed live on TikTok, reached more than a million viewers. Noting that she made between $100 and $300 with TikTok in 1 hour during the live broadcast, Momika stated that she has no other income and that TikTok has disabled this income generating feature.
PENALTY TO MOMICA
The Aftonbladet newspaper also wrote that Momika was convicted in 2021 for threatening an Eritrean asylum seeker with a knife while in the asylum seeker’s home. The news claimed that Momika was sentenced to 80 hours of unpaid work in public for a knife threat and ordered to pay compensation of $1,000 to the asylum seeker in question.
REQUEST FOR PRISON FOR PEOPLE WHO BURNED THE QUR’AN
Leif GW Persson, one of Sweden’s famous retired detectives, made a statement on TV4 and suggested that those who burn the Quran abusing freedom of speech should be sentenced to prison.
“Freedom of speech is not something that a few idiots freely use to threaten the interests of Sweden and the lives of individual citizens,” Persson said. I don’t think Salwan Momika, Dane Rasmus Paludan or other madmen should be allowed to disrespect Quran in this way. Those who commit this irresponsibility should be jailed.” He used the phrases.
PROVOCATIONS IN SWEDEN
While attacks on the Qur’an have intensified recently in Sweden and Denmark, allowing these provocations generates a backlash.
Far-right Danish politician and leader of the Solid Direction Party, Rasmus Paludan, continued his provocations of burning the Holy Quran in the Swedish cities of Malmö, Norköpin, Jönköping and the capital Stockholm during the 2022 Easter holidays.
Paludan burned the Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on January 21 and in front of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen on January 27.
Salwan Momika, of Iraqi origin, burned the Koran under police protection in front of the Stockholm mosque on June 28, coinciding with the first day of Eid al-Adha.
Momika stomped on the Koran and the Iraqi flag under police protection in front of the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm on July 20 and in front of the Swedish Parliament on July 31.
Increasing her attacks, Momika continued to burn the Holy Quran in various parts of Stockholm under police protection on August 25, 26, 27 and 29.
Bahrami Marjan, of Iranian origin, burned the Holy Quran on Angbybadet beach in Stockholm on August 3 under police protection. (AA)
